When it comes to offering you the finest in transportation to and from your destination, there is only one van that comes to mind and that is Stevie “Show Boat” Levy’s. For those of you who don’t know Stevie, he is well known throughout the beach music scene. In fact, he was voted “fan of the year in 1999” at the Cammy Awards, which are now called the Carolina Beach Music Awards.

Stevie has become a popular figure at many of the beach and shag events held throughout the Carolinas at clubs like Duck’s in Myrtle Beach, Red’s in Raleigh, and his hometown favorite “Memories” in Atlantic Beach, NC. Stevie travels the state following his favorite beach bands like General Johnson/Chairman of the Board, Embers, Band of Oz, Sammy O’Bannon and many more. You may have heard these bands on Steve Hardy’s “Original Beach Blast”. Steve Hardy himself is also a well-known beach/radio personality and a friend of Stevie’s.

Stevie is more than a driver, he is an entertainer at heart. In 1999, the same year that Stevie received his Cammy Award, the singer/songwriters General Johnson and Sammy O’Bannon released “Stevie Levy Shuffle,” a beach music song that remained #1 for almost 2 years. It was this legendary song and dance that paid tribute to Stevie’s love and support for beach music and for its fans.

As you can imagine Stevie’s popularity rose and with it came the ladies. Yet, Stevie remained true to the beach bachelor life as he released his second debut hit “I’m just a Gigolo” in 2005 with friends Dink Perry and Keith Houston. For those of you who know and love Stevie, he is truly a great friend to all of us and to the beach and shag community. The next time you are out just make sure you call him before you decide to drive. It’s a lot cheaper than riding with “you know who”.
